For future RDN’s: match day is an emotional day. I remember during my application cycle’s match day feeling both relieved that I was matched and disappointed that it wasn’t with any of my top choices. Then weeks later the feelings of self-doubt began to creep in. “Am I ready to be an intern?” “I don’t know anything about nutrition.”
If you were matched this round, congrats! If not, know that there have been many talented dietitians that were not matched first round. The matching process is complex, and some years even the best dietetic students and internships end up without a match.
If you are an RD to be, I am here to answer any questions or concerns you may have about the internship. I know firsthand that the internship can seem scary, and I want to help.
Once again, good luck to those of you who are applying in the second-round match, and congrats to those who were already matched (especially to you future Texas A&M Aggies). 😉
